How a Character Becomes a Balloon for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is only 10 days away and along with the performers, the marching bands, clowns, and performance groups, there are  the balloons.

Ranging from 2 to 5 stories high and needing 90 handlers a piece, these really are the stars of the parade, except for Santa at the end, of course. The old favorites will be back but they've also added new ones this year, including a favorite of the little boy in my house, Thomas the Train.

While searching for videos for he and I to watch, I found this one , which explains how a character becomes a balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I had no idea what was involved. It's really cool!

Then, they have to test everything so there's no surprises Thanksgiving morning!
