Meteorologists are predicting warmer than normal temperatures for the Hudson Valley and northeast this fall.

Forecasters also predict dryer than normal weather, which will be nice for those heading outdoors for fall festivals but not so much for the drought conditions that have been hampering New York state.

If you look forward to the Hudson Valley's fall colors every year than you might be out of luck in 2016. AccuWeather Expert Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said:

Fall foliage looks like it may be hurting just a bit because of the current dry conditions going on and then what we expect in September and October. Those leaves, they may not be as vibrant and they may not stay on the trees very long.

The prevalent La Niña will remain for majority of 2016, which will keep things warm for most of the Eastern United States.

The cooler fall temperatures will only stay around for short periods of time until late in the season. It could be as late as early December the cold weather stays.
