Fascinating Trailer Drops for New Netflix Documentary on Danbury Trashers
"Untold" is a five-part sports documentary series coming soon to Netflix and an entire episode is dedicated to the Danbury Trashers.
The Danbury Trashers were a minor league hockey team in the United Hockey League (UHL) for just two seasons from 2004-2006. Despite the teams short history, the story remains one worth telling.
After all, the team was run by a 17-year-old kid (AJ Galante), gifted to him by his father (Jimmy Galante), a man with alleged mob ties and featured a cast of the league's most talented and violent hockey players.
Then, there is the FBI, the sanitation company, the obsessed fans, the jealous rivals and the prison sentence. The Danbury Trashers chapter of "Untold" drops August 31 on Netflix and below is the series trailer.
The "Untold" series comes from the makers of Wild Wild Country, also on Netflix.
There will be a public viewing party for the show at the Danbury Ice Arena, the day the Trashers episode is made available on Netflix (Aug 31). Jimmy and AJ Galante will be in attendance, former Danbury Trashers players will be on hand and the it will be free to the public on a first come first server basis.
We spoke to Jimmy Galante who had this to say about the event:
"We want to put a red carpet out for all the fans who supported us. The Trashers were more than just the players, myself and AJ, this was a community thing."
Galante went on to say he was thankful to the Diamond Brothers, the ownership group of the Danbury Ice Arena for extending an invitation to host the viewing party. New Danbury Trashers merchandise will be available for purchase at the event and the concessions stands will be open go get food and drink. The time of the event has yet to be determined.
