The 32nd Annual Mid-Hudson Bottle Show will be held on August 18th at the Poughkeepsie Elks Lodge on 29 Overocker Rd in Poughkeepsie, NY. “I’m excited by how the show has grown to include new vendors and an increasingly large audience,” explains Alex Prizgintas, president of the Hudson Valley Bottle Club. “Just this week, the ‘Antique Bottle & Glass Collector,’ a national publication out of Michigan, wrote an article about our upcoming show. This article detailed our special ‘Made at Ellenville’ display featuring rare items made at the Ellenville Glass Works. We are looking forward to sharing our latest research as well as the rare bottles and glassware."

New this year, the show will offer free antique bottles to children that are 14 or younger and accompanied by a parent. Many of the free bottles will be from the late 1800s or early 1900s. Children and their parents can approach any vendor with an “information” logo to ask for information regarding a specific bottle. Each bottle will have hints, wether its the manufacturing style, top, or mold seam that will indicate its age and origin. You are also encouraged to bring any old bottles hidden in your basement, sitting on your living room shelf, or buried under a box in the attic. There will be avid collectors at the show who can easily and quickly estimate the value of your heirloom.

The show runs for one day on Sunday, August 18th from 9:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Admission is $2.00, but if you are a serious collector and want to beat the crowd to get that special bottle, you can enter early at 8:00 A.M. is $15.00. For more information, please contact Alex Prizgintas at 845-774-9856.
