A restaurant that makes the "#1 Cheesesteak in the World" has closed a Hudson Valley location.

Charleys Philly Steaks inside the Galleria at Crystal Run recently closed down. Hudson Valley Post correspondent Jack George confirmed the news while shopping in Middletown late last week.

Middletown is no longer a listed location on the company's website. A reason for the closure is unclear and a spokesperson from the Galleria at Crystal Run has yet to respond to our request for a comment on the closure.

Charleys Philly Steaks has around 600 locations across 46 states and 17 countries. According to the company, when the restaurant started serving customers in 1986, "they redefined the Philly Cheesesteak," and sell the "#1 Cheesesteak in The World."

As of now, Charleys Philly Steaks has locations inside the Palasides Mall in Rockland County and in Westchester County.

However, Hudson Valley Post reported in April Charleys Philly Steaks is coming to Dutchess County. Charleys Philly Steaks was expected to open a new location in the Poughkeepsie Galleria sometime in August. However, a spokesperson from the Poughkeepsie Galleria confirmed this morning to Hudson Valley Post construction has been delayed and no opening date has been set.
