Carrie Underwood and Jimmy Fallon isn't a country singer by trade, but he held his own in a duet with Carrie Underwood on "Islands in the Stream."

The song — an iconic Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton duet — was a special addition to Underwood's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon appearance in Central Park.

Fallon kicks the song off, and as the country powerhouse starts in on the second verse, she attempts to reach the lower register on: "I can't live without you if the love was gone / Everything is nothin' if you got no one."

The Best Country Duets of All Time

"That's really low," she says, laughing before switching up her tempo to hit her incredible high range, eliciting cheers from the live crowd. "We ride it together, ah-ah / Makin' love with each other, ah-ah / Islands in the stream / That is what we are" the two stars sing, adding their own touch to the classic duet, with Fallon letting the "Love Wins" powerhouse sing the final note, which she does beautifully.

While on the show, she also talked about her recent hospitalization in Germany.

Underwood recently broke all kinds of records following the release of her seventh studio album Cry Pretty, including the designation of having the best debut week for a female artist in any genre in 2018. Topping both the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and Billboard 200, Cry Pretty also makes Underwood the first woman in the genre to bring four albums to the No. 1 spot on the all-genre chart. It's also the best selling country album in three years since Luke Bryan's Kill the Lights hit shelves in 2015.

The superstar and husband Mike Fisher are expecting a second child before she embarks on the Cry Pretty 360 Tour in May of 2019.
