The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality alert for Dutchess and Ulster Counties, Monday from 11am to 11pm.  Air quality levels will be high and could make for breathing issues, especially with pre-existing respiratory problems.

The weather will warm up a bit, but the humidity will stay comfortable.  High pressure will dominate the weather pattern.  Monday looks like a great day, Tuesday afternoon a cold front will touch off some showers and thunderstorms.  It won’t be a wash out on Tuesday, but it will help out as we head into Wednesday to moderate the temperatures again.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Sunny, high near 87 with a nice light breeze in the afternoon.

Monday night:  Mostly clear, low around 61.

Tuesday:  Mostly sunny, high near 89.  A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Wednesday:  Mostly sunny, high near 84.
