12 Hours Was Too Long for My Mother-In-Law to Wait, I Guess
I am always complaining about my mother-in-law but it's mostly in a "she's annoying" way. Except this time.
She wants to buy my wife a pair of Uggs for Christmas and asked me when I was at her house the other day with the baby if I knew what size. I told her that I was pretty sure it was an 8 but I would check when I got home.
Little did I know that my wife was missing one of the boots and I guess it was the one with the size on it. I texted my mother-in-law and said that I would find out and let her know in a day or two.
Later that night my wife was looking for them and actually found the missing one. After she took them off, I grabbed them and to my dismay, there was no size on that one either.
I texted my mother-in-law and told her that there was no size but I'd let her know the next day. That text was sent at 8pm Saturday night.
The next day, Sunday, I was able to casually bring it up while we were at breakfast because someone had a pair on that she liked and I said, it's weird that they don't come in 1/2 sizes and I was able to get her size.
We get home and at 1pm I texted my mother-in-law the size.
Her response was "I already got them. You never got back to me." It was less than 18 hours later!
First of all, Christmas is over a month away so I'm pretty sure she didn't have to buy them that quick, especially since I told her they would be on sale after Thanksgiving and second, why is she giving me the attitude? I didn't lose the shoe or not know the size. I told her the size, just wanted to double check.
Maybe my mother-in-law complaints aren't without cause.
