A car’s roof had to be removed after a woman was injured in a rollover accident in Dutchess County.

Just after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Rhinebeck Fire and Police Departments were dispatched for a rollover accident on East Market Street in the Village of Rhinebeck.

Responders found an adult woman trapped in her car. Fire department medical personnel entered the vehicle to stabilize her and gave her medical assistance during extrication procedures, which included removing the car's roof, officials say.

After the driver was safely removed, she was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for further medical examination and treatment. Her condition wasn't released.

The woman apparently lost control of the car and crashed into a parked car, causing her vehicle to rollover in the middle of the street. Rhinebeck Police is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash

Assisting at the scene was Northern Dutchess Paramedics and Tivoli Fire Department Car 1.
