It's a storm system we've been watching for the past few days and it looks like it will impact the Hudson Valley and for some areas, it could be a big issue.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Orange and Putnam Counties from 7 pm Saturday evening through Sunday morning. Heavy snow is a possibility with this system and some locations within the watch area could see 4 to 6 inches of snow. Locally heavier amounts aren't out of the question either.

Travel conditions during this storm could be difficult, if not dangerous as visibility conditions will worsen at times. Scattered power outages are also a possibility due to the weight of the snow. Making sure your cellphones are charged and you have batteries for your flashlights are good steps to take before any storm.

Remember you can call 5-1-1 to find out the latest road conditions throughout the state. We will continue to watch this storm and should it be upgraded to a warning or have additional counties added, we will update that information here.
