Meteorologists are predicting a powerful winter-like storm will bring heavy rain and possibly snow to the region.

Remnants of Hurrican Willa will likely wreak havoc on what many call Halloween weekend. AccuWeather is reporting a nor'easter will bring with it drenching rain or wet snow and gusty winds to the Northeast, including New York.

"At this time, it looks like this storm will bring a general 1-2 inches of rain and a period of 40- to 60-mph wind gusts to the coast, and there will be some sort of wet snow over the interior," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.

The storm likely won't be as big as the Halloween 2011 nor'easter which brought heavy snow to the Hudson Valley, causing many power outages.

Most of the Northeast won't see snow, only heavy rain, AccuWeather is reporting. High winds are also expected for the Hudson Valley. How close the storm is to the coast and how quickly it strengths will determine the rate of rain, snow and wind.

Hudson Valley Weather has yet to come out with an updated forecast but on Wednesday wrote, "If the area of low pressure were deeper and more focused, we could be talking about a major nor’easter… and possibly Oct-Snowber 2018."

Regardless if it's rain or snow, the Hudson Valley is in for some wet weather this weekend.
