There's something about a blood moon that just captures our attention. Maybe it's the name?  The next blood moon is coming up next month, but will we be able to see it?

Express UK is reporting that the next blood moon will take place on July 27th, 2018. Last year we were lucky enough to experience some fantastic blood moons and a super blue blood moon.

However this time around we'll be missing the glorious site. Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America will be able to enjoy what is Newsweek says will be the "longest lunar eclipse in the 21st century" which will last  1 hour 43 minutes.

The moon gets its spooky name from the reddish color that it turns when the "Moon travels through the darkest region of Earth’s shadow."

While all of us here in the United States wont be able to watch the blood moon in real time, several website likes Virtual Telescope will be providing live feeds.

And just to spice things up, there's always some sort of end of the world rumor associated with a blood moon. The Express UK says that there are many Bible verses that allude to blood moons and the end of the world. For example from Joel 2:30-31 where it states “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.”

Yikes. Happy Blood Moon everyone!
