What’s Happening This Weekend in The Hudson Valley

The carefree, lazy days of summer are quickly coming to an end. There's only 2 weekends left in August and next weekend is Labor Day weekend. Don't let this weekend pass you by. Here's a few ideas for some fun and interesting things to do.

Poughkeepsie: Trinity Players Presents 'In the Heights' at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center, 12 Vassar St. This is your chance to see the groundbreaking Broadway sensation! Sometimes the biggest struggle is to decide which traditions to take with you, which to leave behind … and where “home” really is. Fri. & Sat. 8pm, Sun. 2pm.

Livingston Manor: Take a Farm tour at Root n Roost Farm, the area’s only permaculture farm featuring chicks and chickens, ducks and ducklings, turkeys and poults, pigs, bees, flower and vegetable gardens, dwarf orchard, and lots of fun and interesting methods of cultivating the land by hand and with their animals! They pride themselves on their petroleum-free farming practices! Tours held Fri, Sat & Sun at 3 and 4 p.m.

New Windsor: Don't miss the 6th Town of New Windsor Community Day. Enjoy live music all day including an appearance by Tim Urban from American Idol, and Radio Riot, professional wrestling, pie eating contest, free car giveaway, zip line, climbing wall, carousel ride, bounce houses, petting zoo, video game trailer, fireworks and more.
