Saturday, April 18: 9:15 am. Join the Wappingers Walkers Club at a different location each weekend. This Saturday it's the Wallkill Rail Trail in Rosendale. Take 9W [or thruway] to New Paltz Rte 299, turn left toward New Paltz and just after thruway entrance make right on N Putt Corners Road, a left onto Silvertown Road and right onto Rt 32 which becomes 213/32.  In Rosendale, turn left on Rt 213 [Main St], go under trestle and turn right on Binnwater Kiln Rd Rd.  It's about ¼ mile to parking on left.

Saturday, April 18: 11-2. Hot Water Bath Canning Class. Food preservation at home can be easy and fun with a little education! A workshop on safely and successfully preserving food using the hot water bath canning method to make jams and jellies will be held at Cornell Cooperative Extension in Liberty.  Trained Master Food Preserver Volunteers will teach how to prepare gelled products at home, determine proper amounts of fruit, pectin, acid, and sugar, and preserve seasonal jelly, freezer jam, and cooked jam. Participants will go home with samples of food produced during the workshop. Samples will include jalapeño pepper jelly, carrot cake jam, and berry freezer jam.  Cost to attend this educational opportunity is $25.00 per person or $20.00 for CCESC enrollees.

Wednesday, April 1- Thursday, April 30: Stories from Stone. Share your story with Historic Huguenot Street through its local oral history project, “Stories From Stones.” The purpose of this project is to collect and preserve the stories of the New Paltz Huguenots, their descendants, the community, and all who have been impacted by Historic Huguenot Street. Throughout the month of April, Huguenot Street descendants and community members are invited to make appointments to be interviewed at Historic Huguenot Street. In addition to recording interviews, Historic Huguenot Street is accepting submissions of stories via email and postal mail.

 

Saturday, April 18: 9-1. Rummage Sale at the United Methodist Church in Goshen. Browse the many tables for bargains and treasures galore. A bag sale will start late morning on Saturday.
