Saturday, March 7:  Get ready for St. Patrick's Day with the 20th Annual Dutchess County St. Patrick’s Parade starting at 1pm in the Village of Wappingers Falls.  Over the years, the parade has grown to include 3,000 participants and has delighted over 10,000 spectators.

Saturday, March 7: 11 am. Saturday Morning Family Series at The Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck. This weekend you and your family can enjoy The Wizard of Oz by The Puppet People. Join The Puppet People as they follow the yellow brick road to The Emerald City and bring a literary classic to life! See Dorothy, The Scarecrow, The Tinman and The Cowardly Lion learn about home, courage, heart and smarts! This puppet fantasy features marionettes, shadow puppets, rod puppets, a large parade puppet and more! For ages 5 and up.

Sunday, March 8: 10 am. Participate in the 12th Annual Half Marathon and The Lucia Rein Two Person Relay: A Feel Good Race In The Fight Against Cancer.  The Celebrate Life Half marathon is a “Feel Good Race,” a beautiful scenic half marathon in Rock Hill.  This annual event bonds survivors and families in triumph and honors all touched by cancer.  You Dont Have To Run The Entire Race. The Lucia Rein Two People Relay is an option to be part of the cause when you are not up to the entire distance of the half marathon. It is named in honor of a woman who walked the race in her healthy years and continued to walk it while fighting cancer. The distance of the relay is 7.5 miles and 5.6 miles.

Saturday, March 7: 10-2. Creative Building and Creative Machine Competition at St. Joseph School in Kingston. Open to all students in all districts.  Bring your own materials and build for up to two hours. Refreshments will be available. Prizes will be awarded to the top three Most Creative Buildings in each of the 3 grade groups. Every child who builds will receive a participation certificate and a medal. Use of recyclable material and originality is greatly encouraged! Saturday, March 7: 10:30-3:00. Maple Sugar Tours at the Outdoor Discovery Center at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in Cornwall. Museum educators guide small groups on 60-minute tours through the forest teaching about Maple Sugaring now and in the past. Maple products and hot chocolate available for purchase in the visitors center gift shop. Dress warmly and wear appropriate foot wear. Purchase tickets at visitor center. Tours leave every half-hour.
