What’s Happening This Weekend in the Hudson Valley

It's the last weekend in February, believe it or not, and after all the snow we've received this month, this is the weekend to get out of the house and have some fun.

Saturday, February 28: 11-12. Saturday  Morning series at The Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck. This weekend it's SUPER CIRCUS STUFF with Lisa Lou. The whole family will enjoy Lisa Lou’s one-person circus show with juggling, balancing, plate-spinning, magic, funny stuff, and lots of audience participation. Come join the circus!

Saturday, February 28:  6 pm. Mardi Gras Time in Roscoe at the Rockland House. There will be the crowning of a King and Queen of the Mardi Gras, best costume winners for male and female, raffles, 50/50 drawing. Plus, dancing to the Live music by Jon Zanger.  Reservations are recommended.  Price includes:  Appetizers, entre’, and dessert. Organized by the Roscoe Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday, February 28: 10:30-11:30. Dr.Seuss Birthday Party with Oliver Wyman at the Woodstock Library, 5 Library Lane in Woodstock. Don't miss the special “Dr. Seuss Birthday Party” with storyteller and voice-over actor, Oliver Wyman. He will read a marathon of Dr. Seuss books. Special party favors and treats! Oliver Wyman has been a performer for over forty years, though he is more often heard than seen. As a voice-over artist, his vocal characterizations have been featured in countless cartoons and video games, including Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Grand Theft Auto series. 845.679.2213.

Saturday, February 28: 10 - 5. Orange County Arts Council presents Arts Build Confidence at The Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown, lower-level center court. This Arts Celebration combines both visual arts and performing arts. Seven high schools will be singing and dancing as they share a small sample of their upcoming high school musicals with each other and the general public.
