So here we are on March 10th in the Hudson Valley finding ourselves being reminded it is still winter. A Friday snow storm which will be followed up by a frigged Saturday. Another winter weekend in the HV. Lots of you had plans that you might be rearranging due to Mother Nature throwing one more snow ball our way this weekend.

Time to re-group and put this weather to good use. One thing you can still enjoy is Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. Now in full swing this would be the perfect weekend to take advantaged of the great deals that The Valley Table's Spring Restaurant week has to offer. Over 200 restaurants from 7 Hudson Valley counties are participating this year. You have until next Sunday to visit various Hudson Valley restaurant and enjoy the specialties they are offering as part of this annual culinary celebration.

A lot of you are also on your second fish fry Friday if you are honoring lent. Last week I offered up some ideas for great fish dinners. Today I am going to suggested setting aside the fryer and grab the soup pot. Lobster bisque or a creamy bowl of chowder would definitely hit the spot and make great left overs for the rest of this chilly weekend.

I don't have a family recipe I can share but "Tasty" has a New England style clam chowder that looks easy to whip up. Pass the oyster crackers it is going to be a chowder kind of weekend.

This would also make a great meal after the Kingston St Patrick's Day parade happening Sunday. The parade steps off at 1pm from the Kingston Plaza and ends at the Rondout Landing. Hope to see you curbside for this annual Hudson Valley tradition.
