A passenger in a car stopped on I-87 was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine, marijuana, and items used to sell drugs.

On Monday around 9:15 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on the New York State Thruway for a traffic violation. Police say a passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Michael J. Walton, of Warwick, was in possession of approximately 15 grams of cocaine, a metal grinder containing marijuana, and clear glassine envelopes which are known to be used for packaging narcotics.

Walton was charged with two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Walton was arraigned before the Town of Woodbury Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond
