New York State Police Troop F, Kingston, are looking for 26-year-old Thomas Miranda for petit larceny and offering a false instrument to file in the 2nd degree. According to the New York State Police, Miranda was arrested after filing a false report with the state police claiming that his debit card was stolen and that someone had made unauthorized charges totaling $778.55. He was then reimbursed $996.83 from the bank to cover the alleged stolen money, overdraft fees and other penalties. After an additional investigation, it was revealed that Miranda had actually removed the money from his own account. After failing to return to court, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest from the Town of Shandaken Court.
