If you are off from work Wednesday and looking for something to do that will help work off some of those calories from this weekend, the Mohonk Preserve has a solution for you. This Wednesday February 6th you can take a hike through Franny Reese State Park in Highland. The 251 acre park open year round dawn to dusk on the west bank of the Hudson River offer great hiking and amazing views.

The hike on Wednesday meets at the Johnson-Iorio Park in Highland at 9:30 am. That is just north of the Mid Hudson Bridge. It is easy to get to from 9w, you go east on Haviland Road until it ends. It is considered a moderate hike. It is about 3 miles. You are welcome to hike or snowshoe. This event is free of charge.

This Mohonk Preserve Bob Babb Wednesday walk is open to adults of all ages and abilities. You do not have to make reservations. It is important that you plan for weather and conditions. The hike starts at 9:30 am at the trailhead parking lot listed and will last 2.5 to 4 hours. Make sure you are prepared for the current conditions and bring the appropriate gear. If the weather look like it will not be good for the hike you can call June Finer, Hike Coordinator at 845-255-7247 that day between 7:30 am and 8 am to find out if the event wil be happening.
