Hudson Valley residents can show their support for the victims of last week’s shootings in Dallas with a vigil planned for Tuesday.

Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus will join District Attorney David Hoovler, Sheriff Carl E. DuBois and members of the law enforcement community to pay tribute to the victims of Thursday night’s police shootings in Dallas, Texas at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Goshen.

There will be candles, prayers, a moment of silence and signs of support at the vigil, which is open to the public. Law enforcement officials from throughout Orange County are expected to attend. The tribute will also honor all fallen officers, active and retired officers.

Five police officers were killed and seven other were wounded during the attack.

“The senseless shooting of police officers in Dallas has left us shocked and saddened,” Neuhaus said in statement. “The thoughts and prayers of Orange County residents are with the victims and their families as well as all of those in law enforcement. Now, more than ever, we must be supportive of members of law enforcement and strengthen our community bonds.”
