Here's some bad news for your old college roommate who spent way too much time vaping and blowing cherry-smelling smoke in your face. Now, he'll only be able to do that if you're both outside.

Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill in October that places a ban in New York on vaping indoors. The bill went into effect last week. Cuomo cites health reasons as the motivation for the ban, and says that though products like vapes and e-cigarettes are marketed as healthier alternatives to cigarettes, "the reality is they also carry long-term risks to the health of users and those around them." Cuomo believes the ban will result in a healthier New York overall.

Now, of course, this probably only applies to public places, like bars and restaurants. So if you're sitting at home with your roommate, you may still be subject to a face full of smoke while you're minding your own business just trying to watch Netflix. Sorry about that.
