More details have been released regarding the stabbing of a Cornwall resident early Wednesday morning.

Previously reported by Hudson Valley Post, State Police arrested a Cornwall man after he allegedly stabbed a man multiple times in the early hours Wednesday.

Jonathan Rizzo, 20, of Cornwall, NY was arrested and charged with Assault in the first-degree. An investigation revealed that Rizzo engaged in a physical altercation with a 21 year old male acquaintance. Rizzo repeatedly stabbed the victim in the head and torso area, according to a Press Release.

The attack took place in front of a residence, and the victim was able to walk to another home to contact 911. The injuries to the victim are being described as non-life threatening and he is being treated at St. Luke's Hospital.

Rizzo was arraigned in the Town of Cornwall Court and remanded to Orange County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail and was ordered to return to court on April 12th for further proceedings.
