Update: Man Arrested Following Shooting Death of Dutchess County Man

Police have identified the man who was fatally shot in Dutchess County. Another Dutchess County man has been charged with his murder.

Tuesday morning, City of Poughkeepsie Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 129 South Grand Avenue. Responding officers found a 42-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.

Davion Reid who was also known as Kevin Morris was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Following an investigation, late Tuesday, 37-year-old Jermaine Johnson, of the City of Poughkeepsie was arrested and charged with the murder of Reid.

Johnson is being held pending his arraignment in City of Poughkeepsie Court.
