Ulster County Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Young Child

An Ulster County man was arrested following allegations that he sexually abused a young child.

Akeem W. Dawson, 31, of Kingston allegedly had unwanted sexual contact with a child under the age of 14. Police did not reveal the child’s age. They did say that Dawson knew the child and that the youngster wasn’t physically injured.

Dawson was charged with second-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.

Dawson was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu $1,500 cash bail or $2,500 property bond.

An Order of Protection was also issued barring Dawson with having any further contact with the child.
