Traffic stop in Lloyd led to Drug Charges For 3 Hudson Valley Residents

Update: This article was updated to indicate that the possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence charges were dismissed. He pleaded guilty to violations, which the Hudson Valley Post does not typically report on. As such, identifying information about the individual has been removed from the article.

A routine traffic stop in the Town of Lloyd led to the discovery of a number of drugs and the arrests of three Hudson Valley residents.

New York State Police from Highland pulled over a car in the Town of Lloyd for speeding on Route 44/55. Police quickly learned that the driver, a Highland man, was driving with a suspended license. Christine McGlinchey, 31, of Wappingers Falls and 31-year-old Alicia Lickteig, from Highland, were passengers in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle and its passengers allegedly led to the discovery of heroin, a hypodermic needle, paraphernalia containing heroin residue and crack cocaine residue, Oxycodone and marijuana. Police also say they found heroin on the driver that he was hiding.

All three were charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a control substance, a class A misdemeanor. The driver was charged with three counts with Lickteig and McGlinchey receiving two counts. In addition, the driver was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony and unlawful possession of a hypodermic instrument, a class A misdemeanor. McGlinchey was also issued a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

All three defendants were given appearance tickets and released. They are due in Town of Lloyd Court on January 21st.

The criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence charges were dismissed in March 2016.
