A wet and muggy day for the Hudson Valley on Thursday.  As a front approach the area, and tropical moisture from Hurricane Michael that hit landfall at the Florida panhandle.  We can expect showers and thunderstorms, with some heavy rainfall.  Temps will stay in the 70’s.

Once the cold front moves through the area on Thursday night, we’ll see more seasonal air mass.  That means, much cooler temps and plenty of sunshine as we go into the weekend.

A flood watch has been issued for the Hudson Valley on Thursday because of the potential for heavy rain.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Thursday:  Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 72. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Thursday Night:  Showers and thunderstorms likely before 10pm, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 55. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 59. North wind 8 to 13 mph.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 54.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.
