The SporkRun is Back This Week at the Dutchess County Fair

When I list some of my favorite things about the Dutchess County Fair, the animals, arts and crafts exhibits, and the food are in my top three. While I know that many list the rides and games among their favorites, food is usually right up there too. That's no surprise because the Dutchess County Fair is also known for being a food lovers fair.

This year, they need your taste buds to sample and vote in the 3^rd annual SporkRun and this year, it’s all about the main dish. The Sporkrun is a contest for the Fair’s food concessionaires to introduce the best new, or unusual, food item. This year, think about a Bacon Mac-n Cheese calzone, Shepard’s Pie on a stick, a Porketta Sundae and you get the idea.

Fairgoers will have the chance to vote on their favorite entry with SporkRun contestants located throughout the fairgrounds, you can get a list of this year’s competitors at dutchessfair.com. Sample and taste, then use the Dutchess County Fair app to place your vote. You can vote for multiple dishes. The votes will be tallied and a winner announced at the end of the competition.
