Move aside Barney and all you other "Purple People Eaters" there is a new shade in town and it is called "Ultra Voilet 18-3838".  That's right the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year has been announced and it's vibrant purple. Hopefully it is also more popular than last year's color "Greenery" that never quite took off in my opinion. Not once did I have a friend rush out to buy anything in the springy green version of a color that was 2017. However, I can see many people jumping on board with this years bold tribute to the color purple.

According to an article by People Home & Travel Pantone was started in 1963 by Lawrence Herbert to create a color standardization system for printing. Reportedly it is Pantone's Color Institute that introduces a color annually that it believes will influence our color choices for the next 365 days, giving us the Pantone Color of the Year.

So Ultra Voilet 18-3838 will be influencing us for the rest of 2018. It's glimmering purple hue is sure to have some impact on our life and color choices from clothes to home decor.
