The New American Oktoberfest returns to the Suglarloaf Performing Arts Center Saturday October 10th and Sunday October 11th. The event is two glorious days of live music, great food, and, of course, delicious American Craft Beer.

If you're heading out to the festival, here are five beers that you're not going to want to miss.

Harpoon Brewery: Oktoberfest
This is an Oktoberfest celebration, so it goes without saying that you should probably have at least one Oktoberfest beer. The Harpoon Oktoberfest is one of the best, earning an "Outstanding" rating of 91 from the Alstrom Brothers, founders of BeerAdvocate.com.

Broken Bow Brewery: Broken Heart Stout
In just two years Broken Bow has generated alot of buzz in the beer world, and some very dedicated fans too. Their Broken Hear Stout is loaded with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate flavor with a nice hop finish.

Ommegang: Nirvana IPA
Ommegang in Cooperstown was named in a list of the top three beers in America. That's no surprise to those who continue to enjoy their Belgian-inspired ales. Hops fans will be in nirvana over this IPA, brewed with several varieties including Bravo, Simcoe, Centennial, Topaz, Mosaic, Centennial, Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo.

Abita Brewery: Pecan Harvest Ale
If you've had a beer with a nutty flavor, most likely it came from the malt not the addition of real nuts. Abita actually puts real toasted Louisiana pecans into this brew, giving it a unique nutty flavor and aroma.

Southern Tier: Harvest
The deep amber color screams autumn, and after your first sip you'll notice an even deeper hop flavor. Fresh English hops are added to each brewing of this beer, and then it's dry hopped to add even more hop aroma to the finished product. This is one Fall seasonal you're not going to want to miss out on.

Of course, there are many other beers available including Otter Creek's White IPA, Harpoon's UFO and their unique Pumpkin Cider. If you're headed to the New American Oktoberfest, give some of these beers a sample and be sure to let us know which one is your favorite.
