A traffic stop in Ulster County led to the arrest of three people, including a teen, on drug possession and other charges.

On Saturday, members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office arrested three people following a traffic stop in the Town of Rosendale. During the traffic stop, 27-year-old Kyla L. Knowlton of Kingston and 21-year-old Jon M. Hutton of Tilson are accused of giving officers fake identities.

Knowlton was also found to have an active warrant for her arrest and was in possession of cocaine, police say. Hutton was allegedly in possession of a switchblade knife and a quantity of marijuana.

Knowlton was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and false personation, misdemeanors.

Hutton was arrested for third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, false personation, misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

The driver, a 19-year-old from Congers, was charged with a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana and traffic violations.

All were transported to the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center. Hutton and Knowlton were arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court. Both defendants were remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail for Hutton and $5,000 cash bail for Knowlton. The teen was released with an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Rosendale Justice Court.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Rosendale Police Department and the New York State Police K-9 Team.
