Target plans on hiring 100,000 temporary workers during the holiday season.

Target has announced that they will boost its holiday shopping season hiring by 43 percent over last year. Target expects to hire 100,000 temporary employees for the holiday shopping season.

That's a pretty significant difference from last year's 70,000 workers.

This comes as Target tries to compete with Amazon, and other physical rivals like Walmart.

The roughly 100,000 workers will serve guests at Target's 1,816 stores, and an additional 4,500 team members for their distribution centers.

That's roughly 55 new team members per location.

Target wants to create a shopping experience that is easy and more fun, during one of the busiest times of the year.

If interested in some extra cash for the holidays, you can apply online.
