What signifies the start of summer for you?

Today is the first official day of summer and to celebrate Jess and I started talking about the things here in the Hudson Valley that signify the start of summer.

We both agreed that the fact that it stays lighter later is a huge deal for summer. There is nothing better than hanging outside til 9 or 10 at night with a little fire pit action.

For me the long lines at most of the ice cream places signifies that summer is here. Also when I start to see the firework tents go up on 9W or on Rt 9 I know that summer is officially here and of course Country Tuesdays at Billy Joes in Newburgh, with hundreds of people outside on the deck line dancing the night away.

We took a ton of calls this morning and you guys had some great summer starters including, Renegades baseball, traffic and of course tourists.

What is the one thing that tells you that summer has officially started here in the Hudson Valley? Let us know in the comment section below and be listening for your comments on the air.

Have a great day and HAPPY SUMMER!
