Still Time to Enter Local Apple Pie Contest

Every September for more that 20 years the Ulster County Fairgrounds has been home to a big event, the annual Taste of New Paltz. Over the many years that this event has taken place there have been numerous first time experiences added each year. This year will be no different. 2018 is the first year you can compete in the Taste of New Paltz Apple Pie contest.

There will be prizes awarded for best tasting pie and of course bragging rights to the baker who is crowned winner. Don't wait to get in on this fun the deadline to enter is closing in fast. You must register to participate by September 10th (this coming Monday) and you will need to drop off your pie in advance on the 16th so it can be tasted and judged. The entry fee is just $5.

Apple season in the Hudson Valley has just kick off and pies aren't the only way to enjoy this delicious product of the valley. Even the Apple Pie contest at the Taste of New paltz has left some wiggle room for you to be creative. They are actually counting on creativity to help make the contest more interesting and competitive.

Good luck if you choose to enter your apple dessert in the contest. And remember this event is open to the public and has events for the entire family. So even if you decide not to enter a pie you can still head to the fairgrounds on September 16th and enjoy the Taste of New Paltz.
