Snowmen Mantle at Christy Cottage

It's another month and that means a new mantle at my house. I decorate for the holidays of course, but I will also do a theme mantle for a special birthday or anniversary, in memory or honor of someone, to celebrate a new season, or any other special moment or achievement in our family.

While some months it's a lot of work and takes me a day or two to complete, especially since I have mobility issues and am looking at having knee replacement surgery this year, in the end it is all worth it. It makes me smile to see something different and fun each month on the mantle.

This month, I promised my grandson that I wouldn't do the mantle without him. We had so much fun opening all of the boxes and unwrapping each snowman. He set them out on the dining room table in the order he wanted them to be on the mantle. I get the funny feeling that I am no longer in control of the mantle decorating.
