Trista Hopkins is a lunch lady at a middle school in Dallas, Texas. She's also an Army veteran and a single mom who has to work a second job.

A while back, Trista inherited a house from her grandfather, but it's literally falling apart. The ceiling is caving in, the floors are starting to buckle, and there's asbestos.

Luckily, that won't be the case for much longer. Because on Monday, Trista was in the cafeteria at school when someone from a charity called "Rebuilding Together" showed up to surprise her . . . and said they're renovating her entire house FOR FREE.

Trista's two daughters are 11 and 9, and share a bedroom. But as part of the renovation, they're adding a THIRD bedroom. And another charity called "Dwell with Dignity" is going to redecorate and give them a bunch of new furniture.

The renovations start next month, and they'll take at least five weeks. But a local real estate company is putting them up in a free apartment until it's done.
