Do you think it's a good idea or bad idea?

Over the last year or so we have heard stories of some schools across the country that have decided to stop giving kids homework on a daily basis. They that some schools choose to do this because they feel that kids are too stressed as it is, and they need time to relax, exercise, and be with friends.

As a parent, I am all for reducing the amount of homework my kids get on a weekly basis, only because I do think that it stresses them out when they have to come home after a full day of school and then sit for another 2 hours to do more work. I'm not saying they shouldn't have any because I do think they need to reinforce what they are learning in class at home but I think there needs to be a time limit.

We had got a ton of calls from teachers and parents all morning long and most parents think that homework should still be given but there needs to definitely be a balance.

Also, I never looked at homework as more work for teachers. I always thought it was their way of sending stuff home because they didn't get to it in class. After getting a bunch of calls from teachers, I was told that homework is actually more work for teachers because they have to take time to grade all of it. I never looked at it from that point of view.
