Sgt. Shawn Farrell II will be coming home to Accord this week. The 24-year-old Army officer was killed while serving in Afghanistan on April 28. Shawn's family reached out to me to try and get the word out about the Govenor of New York NOT contacting the family after their son's passing. I feel its the least Andrew Cuomo could do. Reach out to the governor's office to show your support of the Farrell family. (518) 474-8390 or on the web here.

According to midhudsonnews.com, Farrell’s body will be flown into Stewart Airport near Newburgh on Wednesday, May 7. He will then be escorted home to Accord by his family, members of the US military, Accord and Kripplebush fire departments, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, State Police and Patriot Guard Riders.

The family will hold a private ceremony following his arrival on May 7. On May 8, friends and the public may pay their respects beginning at 10 a.m. at Skate Time in Accord.

Shawn's dad joined us on the show today.
