If you missed seeing Santa in your local parade or tree lighting ceremony, no worries, there's still time and this would be a great event for you and your kids.

The New Paltz Cinemas, with help from Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and the New Paltz Agway are offering families a chance to meet Santa on Saturday December 19 then stay for a free viewing of the holiday movie 'Elf' starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, and Bob Newhart, according to The Daily Freeman.

Doors will open at 10:15 am and there will be opportunities to take your child's picture with Santa as well. While the event is free, you will still need tickets before the day of the event in order to attend. You can get yours at the New Paltz Agway or the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (the Morton Boulevard branch in Ulster.

Organizers of this free, family event are also asking every one in attendance to bring a non-perishable food item to the screening to help families in need throughout the Hudson Valley.
