I know that when it first started to get warm here in the Hudson Valley, the first thing I did was clean up my garden and get ready to grow my own vegetables.

Recently Chef Joel Gamoran teamed up with FYI network to debut a show called Scraps. Chef Joel and the crew took a road trip around the United States with a plan on teaching others to take a different approach to their food waste. The show made stops in Denver, Santa Fe, Charleston, Portland and the Hudson Valley.

Gamoran is a senior resident chef at Sur La Table in New York City, so likelihood is he probably has heard and has been to the  Hudson Valley before. Scraps made a stop in the Valley along with health coach Jenn Claiborne where they teach us how to make Kale Stem Caesar Salad Grilled Roots with Carrot Top Gremolata, Stale Bread Tuscan Soup and Bruised Apple Caramel Skillet Cake.
