Get ready to head back to 1993: Runaway June have shared a cover of Dwight Yoakam's early '90s hit "Fast as You." Readers can press play above to watch the performance, which they gave as part of Taste of Country’s RISERS series.

From the get-go, it's clear that the three women of Runaway June -- Naomi Cooke, Jennifer Wayne and Hannah Mulholland -- can handle this hit's tried-and-true country sound and swagger. Backed by a steel guitarist and percussionist, Runaway June play the riffs of Yoakam's tune on their acoustic guitars; on vocals, Cooke sings the memorable lines of "Fast as You" like a pro and infuses the song with her own style and sassy attitude.

Runaway June released their debut single, “Lipstick,” in 2016, and in the months since, the song has become a big hit for the country trio. These days, the group has their sights set on more new music — specifically, their debut album.

“We’re working on it now. We’re about three-quarters of the way [done], but we’ve been on the road, so it’s hard to finish up the final stuff,” Mulholland told The Boot in the spring. “We’re anxious to finish it, but we love being on the road, too.”
