Remembering SGT Shawn M Farrell II (VIDEO)

Today marks two years since we lost a local hero. April 28, 2014 was a tragic day for the Farrell and Stokes families and all of us in the Hudson Valley.

Sgt. Shawn Farrell made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom on April 28, 2014. He was killed in action when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Nejrab District, Kapisa province.

Since his passing the local community has stepped up and done benefits and even named part of a Hudson Valley road in honor of this amazing hero.
