Country trio Gloriana are now a duo: Member Rachel Reinert has left the group.

Reinert announced her decision to "part ways" with Gloriana -- now down to two members, brothers Tom and Mike Gossin -- on Twitter on Thursday (Jan. 7). She will spend the first part of 2016 writing and recording a solo album.

In her note, the singer says that her eight years with the band have "been such an incredible ride, and I have so many beautiful memories that I will cherish for a lifetime."

"I hae gotten to see the world and meet so many wonderful people along the way," Reinert continues. "I am extremely grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey ..."

Reinert explains that her decision to leave Gloriana "was not an easy decision, nor one that I took lightly, but I felt that it was time for me to move on and follow my heart."

"I sincerely wish Tom and Mike Gossin all the best," Reinert adds, noting that she "cannot wait to get the [solo] music out as soon as I possibly can."

Formed in 2008, Gloriana began as a quartet, until former member Cheyenne Kimball left the group in 2011. The band released their third studio album, Three, in June.

"We just felt creatively free on this one," Reinert told The Boot in advance of the project's release. "I think that getting past everything that we went through on the last album was a hurdle of itself, so to still be here doing this, this one just felt liberating, really."
