Growing up a wrestling fan, I was a HUGE fan of the "American Dream" DUSTY RHODES. By far one of the best to ever lace up a pair of pro wrestling boots. Dusty died yesterday at the age of 69. Sources say he'd been hospitalized since Wednesday morning after a fall.

Rhodes was born Virgil Runnels Jr., and made his debut in 1968. He was a huge star in the '70s and '80s, thanks to his rivalry with RIC FLAIR in the NWA and WCW.

He worked for the WWF(now WWE)from 1989 to 1991. From 2005 until his death, he worked behind the scenes at WWE, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2007. Two of his sons, Dustin and Cody Rhodes, compete in the WWE as GOLDUST and STARDUST.

He played up his blue collar roots by billing himself as a "common man" and the "son of a plumber". He was also one of the best talkers in the business.

One of my favorites....
