The Poughkeepsie 10-year-old Cal Ripken baseball team will be broadcast this Thursday as they advance to the World Series semifinals.

The Poughkeepsie Lightning has won all 4 games in the Cal Ripkin u10 World Series. The team's first victory came as they beat Bryant, Arkansas 13-1. Early Sunday morning the Lightning was victorious again, cruising to a 14-3 victory over Norwalk, Connecticut.

On Monday the Poughkeepsie boys defeated the tournament's host team from Palm Beach Gardens with a score of 9-2 and continued their streak later in the day defeating Mineral Area, Missouri 6-1.

One of the players' parents, Laura Collins, says that the energy on the team is "incredible." She went on to say "It is so exciting... the boys are really rocking it!"
