After a week of above average temperatures, the Hudson Valley may be looking at some significant snow by early next week. It is winter after all, right?

Right now, the big question marks are the extent and intensity of the approaching storms.

According to AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams:

How extensive and how heavy the snow is from place to place will depend on how the colder air and the two storms interact with each other.

AccuWeather says there will be two main areas of moderate to heavy snow, from Monday to Wednesday.

Some of that heavy snow may fall across the Mid-Atlantic region to most of New England if an approaching Atlantic storm remains weak and remains at sea on Monday. This would allow a second storm from the Midwest to strengthen and to move toward the Northeast.

However, should the Atlantic storm become strong, it is more likely to stay right on the coast, which would mean heavy snow throughout coastal New England, but nothing that significant inland.

What does this mean for the Hudson Valley? Hard to tell. January's blizzard left portions of the southern Hudson Valley and Connecticut with over a foot of snow, while other ares ares received absolutely nothing.

Star tuned for updates.
