It seems to happen a lot nowadays but better to be safe than sorry.

According to WTEN, Shearer’s Foods announced a recall of a bunch of flavors of potato chips because of the possibility of a salmonella contamination.

The contamination could have possibly happened during the chips seasoning process, as some of the chips seasoning was made with milk ingredients from Valley Milk Products that may have been contaminated with the salmonella bacteria, which can cause serious, infections in children, the elderly or people with weakened immune systems. In healthy people, it can cause a fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

As of now, no illnesses have been reported, but Shearer’s Foods decided to voluntarily recall the products as a precaution.
