Popular Hudson Valley Kids Venue Closing

Sad news for kids across the Hudson Valley.

It looks like one of the most popular places for kids to spend a little time on the weekends has announced that they are closing their doors on Sunday.

According to the Times Herald Record, the Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant in the Orange Plaza, located at 8 Orange Plaza Lane in Middletown will close down this Sunday.

A spokesperson for the restaurant, Christelle Dupont, told the Record that the restaurant’s lease is ending and after trying to negotiate an extension at a lower rent, they weren't able to come to an agreement so the restaurant is going to close.

Dupont did leave the door open to the restaurant possibly opening up in a new location but did say that there are no plans to do so right now.

If you are a parent and are now scrambling for a place to have your kids next birthday party, there is another Chuck E. Cheese location at the old site of the South Hills Mall at 1895 South Rd. in Poughkeepsie.
