Police: Troopers Almost Struck by Wrong Way Intoxicated Driver

State Police were almost hit by a wrong way intoxicated Sullivan County woman. Police say the woman was three times over the legal limit of intoxication.

On January 28th, New York State Police Troopers from Wurtsboro were almost struck by a wrong way driver on Bloomingburg Road. Police allege, Shelia Dejesus, of Bloomingburg, forced the trooper’s vehicle off the road and almost hit three other cars before being stopped.

After Dejesus was pulled over authorities say an investigation determined that she was highly intoxicated. DeJesus was arrested and transported to State Police Wurtsboro where her blood alcohol content was .24%.

Dejesus was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and given a number of vehicle and traffic violations. She is due to return to Town of Wallkill court at a later date.
