Police arrested a staff member from a Dutchess County children’s home after she allegedly pushed and injured a student.

On Monday, New York State Police from Rhinebeck arrested 59-year-old Helen Teck of Rhinebeck for endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

Troopers were sent to the Astor Home for Children located on Mill Street in Rhinebeck for a harassment complaint involving a staff member and a student. According to its website, Astor provides support for children with behavioral and emotional health problems through a number of education and mental health services.

Police say an investigation revealed that Teck pushed an 11-year-old-student at the Astor Home on April 26. The child suffered minor injuries.

Teck was issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the Village of Rhinebeck Court on June 8.
